Studio Policies & Information

Below is an overview of our general studio policies, including attendance, placement, registration, communication, and studio expectations. These policies are in place to ensure a safe, organized, and positive environment for all dancers and families.

General Rules & Regulations

All studio communication is sent via email. Please ensure we have a current and active email address that is checked regularly to stay informed of important updates.

The front office can be reached at (508) 567-1462. Messages will be returned within 24 business hours. Studio reminders, announcements, and weather-related cancellations will also be communicated through our text messaging system.

Breaking Pointe Dance Studio, Inc. (BPDS) is not responsible for personal injury or the loss or damage of personal property. Students and families are responsible for informing instructors and the front desk of any injuries, limitations, or conditions that may affect participation. Student safety and well-being are always our top priority.

To maintain a focused and professional learning environment:

  • Proper dress code is required in all classes
  • Cell phones must be turned off and left at the front desk
  • No gum, food, or candy is permitted in class or on the dance floor
  • Outside street shoes are not permitted on the dance floor

BPDS reserves the right to use photos and video taken during classes, rehearsals, and performances for promotional and marketing purposes.

Families are encouraged to stay up to date by checking the studio bulletin board, website, and email communications regularly. Class schedules, faculty assignments, and performance dates are subject to change with advance notice provided whenever possible.

Registration

Enrollment at BPDS is considered a commitment for the full season, running from September through June.

If a student is absent for an extended period of time or an account becomes two months past due, the student’s spot may be released and made available to another dancer.

The Owner/Director reserves the right to dismiss any student or family whose behavior is not aligned with the values and policies of BPDS.

Withdrawals

If a student needs to withdraw, written notice must be submitted via email prior to the 1st of the month in which the withdrawal will take effect. Otherwise, tuition for that month will still be due.

If withdrawal is not properly communicated in writing, billing will continue until notice is received. Any outstanding balances must be paid in full. Unresolved accounts may be sent to collections and subject to additional fees, including applicable late fees and collection costs.

Families are responsible for all tuition charges through the end of the withdrawal month once enrollment has begun.

Payments

We accept the following payment methods:

  • Cash
  • Check
  • Venmo (@BPDSinc – Amanda Bento)

Weather Cancellations

In the event of inclement weather, cancellations will be announced via the studio website, Facebook, Instagram, and text messaging system.

Please check for updates at least 1 hour before your scheduled class time.

Please note: classes are not always canceled when schools are closed.

Class Placement & Levels

Class enrollment requires a minimum number of students. If enrollment minimums are not met one week prior to the start of classes, the class may be canceled.

Students are placed in classes based on age, experience, and skill level. Placement is determined with each dancer’s individual development in mind and may not always align with school grade levels.

Annual evaluations are conducted by faculty to support each dancer’s growth. Progression between levels is based on technical development, consistency, and readiness. Advancement is not guaranteed each season, as the goal is always proper placement for long-term success.

Attendance

Consistent attendance is essential for dancer progress and class development. Families are responsible for ensuring dancers attend regularly and arrive on time.

If a student will be absent or late, please notify the studio in advance whenever possible.

There are no refunds for missed classes. However, make-up classes may be scheduled within the same age group during the regular season (September–June), based on availability.

Please ensure dancers are picked up promptly at the end of class and arrive on time to avoid disruption to instruction.
